Hello fellow Students,

"Clean up areas after use in the refectory, library, or common areas so they are ready for the next person " College Etiquette I would like to share with you my thoughts  about what I observed about our beautiful campus. You might say  " Get a grip, lassie",  but hear me out.

In January , I decided to stand for the  Environmental Executive Officer position within the Student Association.  This is something I am  very passionate about and that`s why I would like to highlight that we need to look  after the world around us incuding our campus.

During my studies within my worthwhile mental health  class, I came across a fact that you are exposed to a littered environment, it could affect your mental health.  To be honest with you, walking on campus and seeing empty plastic boxes, bottles, cutlery and other items scattered around can be disheartening. On the other hand we have an incerdible team who work so hard to keep our college in pristine condition.

Unfortunately some staff members have faced unkind language when they spoke with students about the rubbish that they left behind. As responsible citizens and role models for younger generations  by doing small  things like putting your rubbish in appropriate bin makes a huge difference for other student, visitors, and members of staff an  amazing cleaning team.

Finally , I would like to share a quote with you "If  you want to be happy ,create a clean and inviting environment around you" If you feel inspired to do some spring cleaning please let us know. As a Students community together we can influence a positive change in our surroundings. Together we can make our campus more environmental friendly.
