Information for FVC Staff

This is an area for FVC staff to find out more about the Student Association and how we can work with staff and departments across the college.

Why is it important for us to work with FVC?

In order to ensure the student voice is heard from all levels we need to work with ALL staff. We feel it's vitally important for recognising why we exist for students and why we need to work together to give our students the best experience overall.

How do we currently work with staff in FVC?

- Student Partnership Agreement (SPA)

The SPA was put together back in 2018 with the assistance of students, Class Reps, Liberation and Executive Officers as well as our Sabbatical Officer and staff.  We empower our members to help shape our goals and our vision to ensure that we are truly a student led organisation.  The main areas in which we worked together with FVC are:

  1. To become a sustainable organisation that is able to develop our officers and staff to be the people our students need them to be.
  2. Cultivating a transparent, student led organisation that influences change for the better
  3. To develop strong and equal partners across our community that will benefit our members and students

- Various College Committees such as Board Of Management

  • FVSA represents all FVC students to ensure their voice is heard across the College.  We do this through key college groups such as Board of Management, Learning and Student Experience Committee, Finance Committee, Corporate Parenting Group, Time for Me Steering Group, Mental Health Partnership Agreement Group, Sustainability, Equality and Diversity, Covid Recovery/Springback Committee

  • We value our relationships with support staff and lecturers and our members have recognised the importance in working alongside their trade unions represented in our College. We actively meet and UNISON and EIS-FELA representatives to feed into any collaborative work or campaigns that would affect students.
