Running in an election: What's involved...

Our elections are open to all active FVC students.

Here are the steps a student will have to take if they want to run in an election as a candidate:

  1. Think about why they want to represent Forth Valley College students, what ideas or campaigns would they run if elected?
  2. Download and complete a nomination form before any deadlines.
  3. Start preparing their campaign materials - they will need a good manifesto and an eye catching poster (click here for some tips)
  4. Attend a candidate briefing where they will get support and advice for running their campaign
  5. Run their campaign during the voting weeks - this is their opportunity to get out there, speak to students and get as many votes as they can in order to win the election!
  6. Once the voting closes, there will be a short wait to find out the results of the election
