Overpriced and Under serviced: student travel across Forth Valley

Motion passed April 2018 (Student Council)

FVSA notes:

  1. public transport between campuses is difficult and travel between zones is expensive.
  2. that First Bus discounts are difficult to access and that the fare types are not easily understood.
  3. students are often forced to bring their cars to college because of a lack of public transport.

FVSA  believes:

  1. that students should have access to quality public transport to and from College
  2. that public transport should be affordable and not leave students unable to afford to get to college.
  3. ‎that students should not be penalised for choosing to study a subject which is not taught at their local campus.

FVSA resolves:

  1. to encourage Forth Valley College to engage with public transport providers to seek improved service for students.
  2. to raise a motion addressing student transport issues through NUS, to influence change at a national level
  3. to lobby local Council, MSPs and MPs on the issues facing students, and seek to change both local and national policy on service provision and travel cost.
