Our Foodbank Volunteers are vital members of one of our most
important functions. Organising, maintaining and delivering food
into the hands of members of our communities. It takes alot of hard
work to deliver the scale of provision we do at The Gate, and
Foodbank Volunteers play a vital role in keeping the wheels turning

Role Title: FOODBANK WAREHOUSE VOLUNTEER
Responsible to: Foodbank Development Coordinator
Where (Location): The Gate, 2 Ludgate, Alloa FK10 2DR
Time commitment: Monday to Friday 3 hours per week minimum
Role description:
To assist in the smooth running of the warehouse the role involves receiving deliveries and
donations, logging weights, and stock to the correct shelves. Maintaining the cleanliness
Main tasks:
Ensure that all warehousing procedures and processes are followed
Receive food donations from members of the public and thank them
Ensure that incoming stock is checked and recorded
Sort food by date and type, removing any items that are damaged or out of date.
Keep warehouse area clean and tidy at all times, checking for evidence of pests and notifying
the project manager if there are any concerns Report any health & safety or safeguarding concerns to the Chief Officer

Required skills, qualities and experience:
Must be able to work individually or part of a team.
Be physically able to lift crates and process deliveries.
Able to follow instructions from the team leader to ensure that all tasks are completed.
Committed to help the charity provide a nonjudgmental
and safe environment for all clients.
Training and support available:
You will be given all the required training and support before starting your role. You will have a main contact throughout your time volunteering.
